The admission and appointment of Mr. Luong Hoai Nam are directly consulted by the strategic investor of Bamboo Airways. This is the latest progress in the ongoing restructuring of the airline, especially the restructuring of the governance and administration, towards stabilizing operations, attracting quality investment resources, and creating opportunities for solid development in the medium term.
Speaking at the event, the Standing Vice Chairman of Bamboo Airways – Mr. Phan Dinh Tue expressed his confidence in the new General Director. With a professional background and extensive experience in aviation and related fields such as real estate and tourism, the General Director is expected to excel in his new position by working closely with the Board of Directors and strategic investors to motivate the employees to achieve new breakthroughs and help accelerate the restructuring process.
General Director Luong Hoai Nam stated gratitude for his appointment and thanked the strategic investor and Bamboo Airways' Board of Directors for entrusting him with the opportunity to lead the airline during this crucial period of repositioning. He expressed confidence that Bamboo Airways' restructuring process will succeed through the cooperation and consensus of all the investors, directors, and employees.
"The process of restructuring Bamboo Airways has been taking place with a clear and focused direction. In my opinion, this is the most extensive, strategic, and far-reaching restructuring project ever undertaken in Vietnamese aviation history. As the General Director, I am determined to give my best effort to successfully complete the assigned tasks, and contribute towards the prompt restructuring process. Our ultimate goal is to stabilize the operation and create opportunities for future growth. Among our first targets is to bring back the fleet size to 30 aircraft, and then aim to increase to 50 and beyond," said Luong Hoai Nam.
Over the past few months, Bamboo Airways has been steadfast in its commitment to ensuring the utmost safety, security, and excellence in service quality while drastically implementing comprehensive measures to enhance the efficiency of its production and business activities.
This set of solutions has enabled Bamboo Airways to chart a new, suitable course for its operations in late 2023 and early 2024. The carrier's fleet structure is expected to incorporate narrow-body aircraft and jets, which will be deployed on key domestic routes, strongly emphasizing trunk routes such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang. The airline will also offer services on domestic tourist routes with high demand and international routes to Southeast Asia.
Simultaneously, Bamboo Airways is taking steps to expand the potential lessor network, working closely with Boeing and Airbus to implement previously agreed upon aircraft purchase agreements. These efforts aim to prepare for the fleet increase from 2024 onwards proactively.
Bamboo Airways sees this as a crucial opportunity to grow in the future, aligning with the major development milestones of Vietnam's aviation. With the expected opening of the T3 Passenger Terminal at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in 2025 and the Long Thanh International Airport in 2026, Bamboo Airways is poised to capitalize on these developments for progress and success.
